‘I ain’t from Wakanda’: Michael B. Jordan rejects interviewer’s Wakanda salute

When i saw the clip above for the first time I was like

 I thought it was hella funny. Then I thought, why did MBJ react like that? I’ve seen his interviews before. All the Black Panther interviews seemed like they had good energy. So I decided to do some research. That’s when I found the video below. Ryan Coogler, the Director of Black Panther did the Wakanda Salute and even entertained the W part the interviewer did. Ryan is from Oakland, California and is super about the culture. So I was like why would Ryan do it and not Michael. Or rather why would Michael have an attitude and Ryan didn’t. And it seemed like the interview was cut a little short.

All the main folks from Black Panther pretty much did the Wakanda Salute and let the interviewer know that her “remix” was cute and it was cool for her. Michael didn’t do the salute, but it didn’t seem like he had any real beef either. He said,’I’m just messing with you.”

What I thought was messed up was all the blogs and site that made it seem like it was a real beef out there. We do live in a time where there is an abundance of appropriation. This really wasn’t one of those times. At the same time, it didn’t seem like ya’ll was gonna catch Michael slippin’, but it wasn’t a big deal either.

If we let wrong or incomplete information out, it could lead us in the wrong direction or conclusion. Even though it is funny to watch the clip, its not the full story. The last thing we should do is promote fake news.
